Understanding Costs
Information only — not personal medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional.
Private weight-management services vary widely in price. This page breaks down what typically makes up the total monthly cost so you can compare like-for-like.
We show service fee ranges, not medicine price lists. The cost of prescription medication itself varies by medicine, dose, and pharmacy — and should be confirmed directly with the provider.
What makes up the total monthly cost?
- Initial consultation fee — a one-off or monthly charge for the clinical assessment.
- Follow-up appointments — may be included or charged separately; frequency varies.
- Support & coaching — dietitian access, lifestyle coaching, app access, or group sessions.
- Delivery & admin fees — medication delivery, prescription handling, or admin charges.
- Tests (if required) — blood tests or health checks the provider requires before or during treatment.
Questions to ask about costs
- What is the total monthly cost including all fees?
- Is the medication cost included or billed separately?
- Are follow-up appointments included, and how many?
- Is there a minimum commitment or contract period?
- What is the cancellation and refund policy?
- Are there additional charges for dose adjustments?
- Does the price change after an introductory period?
- Are blood tests or other assessments an extra cost?
NHS vs private
Some weight-management treatments may be available through the NHS at no cost or the standard prescription charge. Speak with your GP to understand what NHS-funded options are available before committing to a private service.
